This is the proccess of my latest work "Balance". FInally got a chance to document one of my works. Hope it gives you guys an idea of how i work. Sorry for the big file size and the small images, but if i make the images bigger then the file size would be HUGE!

p.s. i posted this here because i'm unsure as to where i should post something like this, or close ups. If anyone know, please tell me where.
thanks

Not many people seem to bother with lighting against depth of field perception anymore. It is very refreshing to see it applied in your technique here. It really generates a great feeling of spatial relationship between the figures and the sky. Beautiful work entirely! Thank you for showing your method on this one. :]

What is lighting against the depth of field perception mean? Just as a guess: is it the differing of shadows due to the relationship of the lightsource to the figures?

Yes, it's all about the spatial effect. When you think through how one lightsource goes around and through and over and bounces off instead of just highlighting to highlight. This gives an almost 3D effect and has beautiful results from someone like *thienbao who is a really talented painter.

If that isn't too confusing... ask me again. I have a terrible time with being confusing. Your guess was very accurate! The only tip I'd give is to always remember that it is usually lightsources and not just a single source. This is true even when using what seems to be one light direction. Any time that light hits an object there will be diffusion and this creates alternate paths. Attempting to simulate that even a little really adds to the realism of the picture. :]
