Artist's Comments

Finally! This is what's been keeping me busy for the past couple of weeks, including springbreak. This was done for an "erotic" artshow in my city. I know, not very erotic is it, that's what i thought, but the gallery owner likes it so he wants it in the show. Actually, I might just paint a nude that i have in mind, or something else "erotic".

Like I said, this took about 2 weeks on and off, mostly on. As for the hrs..i don't really know, but it might've been around 35 to 40, at most.

For this one, I used my hands a feet as references, but i also snapped a pic of my collarbone in that position cause i was stuck, don't really want to show you that. :D. As for the cloth, i was trying to go for a satin look, so i looked at some pictures that i googled before i started painting it cause i couldn't get someone to do that for me. In the end, i'm pretty satisfy with some parts of the cloth cause other part seem more plasticy to me. Next time, i'm using at least some references, maybe use my self. LOL!

I used Photoshop for this one + a tablet (thanks again Katie!)

Since i was in a rush, i was only able to save some progress shot, but i think i'll post those later....+ some close-ups.

****If you guys have some crits for this pic, please tell me so that i can fix it before the show! thanks!****

****"REVISED"******

Not much revision, i tried making the face more emotional, fixed her right hand, and had the cloth overlap some of her toes. That's about it. I'm gonna stop beating myself up about how "not erotic" it is and move on now. Ahh...much happier!

also added some close-ups [link]

and process *warning* BIG FILE [link]

more updates. Sorry if it shows up again on you watch lists you guys. Anyways, i changed the face so it wouln't look so deformed, couldn't do anything about the back of her head, but i was able to make the hair laid down better, before, i thought it seemed like it was floating from the sheet.

Lies Of Vernacular Expressions is all this world consists of.

If I had just one wish, I would ask for truth.

It takes two to open the door of friendship. One to unluck it, and the other to turn the nob, but it only takes one friend to shut it foreve

It's nice but... um... si it just me or does her head look flat .___.;;;

Hmmm critiques eh? Well, obviously, its not all too erotic... or maybe thats just me. Anyways, her facial expression doesnt really demonstrate any sense of "pleasure" ... to be quite honest, it seems as though shes snoring. As for her hands, I feel that the fingers are perfect. But the base itself (the palm and etc) in her right hand are a little large to be a woman's hand. Her arms should also be placed above her head, as though she were being pinned by a man. I understand that some women have manlyman hands, but i wouldnt use that as a referencing point for the picture. If youre looking for something a little more sultry, I would suggest putting an arc in her back instead of laying flat. Also, her legs are too close together. If she were... "embraced" by red, and this were an attempt to be seductive, i would suggest bringing one leg up and letting one be slightly bent (mostly straight) with her foot flexed as though it were pointing towards the bed to keep her up. Elongating the legs and her torso may be a little bit of help... And the reason your satin looks "plastic" (actually it looks really good) is because the lines (where the fabric folds) are too straight, and instead of just lying around her (which is more erotic) its wrapping her like a mummy. Her neck should also be a little bit skinnier, and having her head tilt more up and to whichever side (just so that her ear grazes the bed) would be your best bet. Remember, when a woman experiences something she likes, her body will tense up as to hold on (in a sense)...

Sorry... Thats a lot. Just a suggestion... or ten... heh.
Great job though! I know i wouldnt be able to do that on photoshop.

This is just lovely. ;____________;
I really love it. That critique above mine was absolutley great, so I won't say anything more, but really, truly, this is stunning work. <3
:iconchiiguin:
WOW. that is amazing. The red really jumps out at you, and the textures of the fabric, skin, and hair are all beautifully done and help to add some variety to the monochromatic color scheme. bravo!!

The cloth is so amazingly gorgeous and smooth! I love her feet also :)
:iconwhytdragon:
SWEET! This turned out fabulous, you pulled off the satin texture, and everything looks right.

Good luck in the art show (is that the one that costs 10-25 bucks to enter :crying:) Ah well, good luck hope it does well :)

Dont worry.. I bet it's just a little rain, that's all..
:iconjunglechink:
well, I can tell you that you have no attention to detail whatsoever.
and that you don't have coloring skills of a genius.

( You might wanna work on her shoulders a little bit. )

but what's really not impressive is the degree of expertise on how you did the sheets.
it doesn't look soft and shiny like how it's supposed to be. It's crap. IT'S CRAP!

but, yo. that shit doesn't rock at all.

and you difinitely don't need exposure.
