My pride and joy of "Painting II" class. It was an in-class painting done over five 2hrs sessions plus a lot of outside work. The figure itself took up most of the class time so I pretty much had to paint the rest outside of class, I was soooo slow! I tried to loosen up a bit with this painting, mostly with the background, but it still took me about 20 hrs total.
I'll show some sketches that I did in that class soon, I really like them.
Oil on canvas, 24 x 36 in.
A note: Did you know models aren't suppose to comment on students' work, it's in their contract, weird!!
Lurve it. It reminds me of the expressionistic movement, even though it's more realistic than anything. I noticed someone said that the pattern on the comforter must've been tedious, but patterns are sometimes so fun, cuz you know what needs to be done and how to do it, and repetition reinforces concentration, so it's good!
I love the whole thing, though. It seems to glow. Definitely 20 hrs worth spent in my opinion.
