Don't you just love pastels? If only they weren't so messy around the house or I had a cleaning maid I would also use them more! Beautiful, love the angle!

Yeah, i love working with pastel, been meaning to buy a professional yet for a while now, i have the money, just can't decide yet. I've only used chalk pastel once at home, boy, that was a great idea lol. Oil pastels are a bit less messy, so you might want to try that, although, it works differently than chalk pastel.:)

I definitely prefer medium pastels, not too soft, not too hard. I really like the Sakura brand. I use a cotton cloth for smudging. And nothing works better than colored paper, Canson ones with good texture to work with. They also are less smelly than oil ones hehehee! Are you an art student too?

Yes, i am, i'm actually getting clearance for a BFA in painting on Monday, so i'm gonna be busayy this weekend. Crank out some cool work hopefully.:) Are you a student too?
Pastels are pretty expensive aren't they, i've been put off buying them i think because they're so pricy, i'll definitely have to do more research on that.:)

Yeap, I am an art student too, I already finished my drawing concentration and I am currently finishing my painting concentration, I take the last course next semester =D :dance: And then will take a break and then go ahead with the Masters.

Good Oils are more expensive around here than pastels ;-) though I haven't done oil work in a long while...I am currently working with watercolors again; I hadn't touched them for about a decade...it's been like starting all over again.

And I agree totally, being an artist is expensive...

I have been too busy with my current proposal (the literary and boring part) I barely have a month to finish off a series... ^^;

Wow, you're farther than i am right now, cause i'm actually just starting my BFA program, that is if I get clearance on Monday.I haven't done watercolor in a while either, haven't really found a subject that would be perfect for the medium.
Ah, you have to right? me no like wirting too much.lol:D
